Position Overview

Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) in Psychological Methods and Artificial Intelligence (AI), Institute of Psychology, Faculty of Human Sciences, University of Bern.

• Develop and evaluate AI methods and advanced statistical methods (e.g., machine learning, modeling of intensive longitudinal data).
• Teach methodological training for psychology students throughout the bachelor’s program.
• Participate in the development of a concept for advising institute staff on the application of AI and advanced statistics.
• Collaborate with other departments and faculty in applying developed methods.
• Engage in research that establishes an innovative and forward‑looking program in psychological methods and AI.

• PhD in psychology or related field.
• Excellent scientific achievements appropriate to the career level (publications, third‑party funding).
• Potential to establish an innovative research program in psychological methods and AI.
• Relevant experience in academic teaching.
• Ability to teach in German by the end of the tenure track.

Permanent, full‑time (100 %). Starting August 1 2027 (or by agreement). Institute of Psychology, Faculty of Human Sciences, University of Bern.
