As a Process Automation Engineer
, you will be at the heart of growth projects, transforming complex biotech processes into robust, compliant, and high-performing automated systems.

You act as the technical bridge between Process, Manufacturing, and Engineering
, ensuring that our automation strategy fully reflects process intent — from design to start‑up.

This is a high‑impact role where your expertise will directly shape safe, efficient, and future‑ready GMP manufacturing operations.

Translate Process into Smart Automation

• Capture and understand detailed process requirements with MSAT and Manufacturing teams
• Convert process knowledge into control philosophies and DCS functional specifications
• Design control strategies, sequences, and automation modules aligned with GMP standards

Shape Automation from Design to Commissioning

• Review P&IDs, 3D models, and skid designs to embed automation needs early
• Define and structure production and CIP/SIP recipes
• Develop functional diagrams and ensure seamless DCS–MES integration
• Lead automation testing strategies (FAT, SAT, OFT) in collaboration with CQV
• Build traceable testing matrices linking automation functions to process phases
• Support commissioning, qualification, and start‑up activities
• Troubleshoot and optimize automation performance during engineering and validation runs
• Work closely with Process, MSAT, Electrical & Controls, Equipment Engineering, Recipe Development, and CQV teams to ensure alignment and execution excellence.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation, Process, Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
• Proven experience in process automation within GMP environments (pharma, biotech, chemical)
• Hands‑on expertise in DCS platforms (PCS7, Delta
  
  V, or equivalent)
• Solid knowledge of process control, instrumentation, and recipe‑based automation
• Experience supporting CQV activities (FAT/SAT, IQ, OQ…)
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and control logic
• Structured, analytical mindset with strong cross‑functional communication skills
• Fluency in English is required. German/French would be a clear plus
