Position: System Engineer Senior Product / System Quality & Verification Ing. Electrical and Wiring

Viiala is a Swiss-based mobility company redefining what cycling stands for: from one option among many to the option people actively choose. Viiala wants to challenge and disrupt the cycling industry. Viiala is building the next generation of premium e-bikes, with R&D hubs in Switzerland and Dubai. Engineered with 95% of components sourced from Europe and the USA, Viiala also plans to assemble in Europe.

Unveiled in 2025 as part of the Honourable Merchants Group and launching its inaugural bikes in 2028, Viiala’s first model enters a new, untapped technological and innovation-led market in the segment. More than an e-bike, it is a statement of possibility – where engineering, aesthetics, and purpose converge to create the ultimate riding experience for the cities of today and the roads of tomorrow.

Senior

Product / System Quality & Verification Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Product / System Quality & Verification Engineer to help establish and drive product quality from our first rideable prototypes through development and toward production.

This is a hands‑on, cross‑functional individual contributor role at the intersection of product quality, systems integration, verification and reliability.

You will work across mechanical, electrical, embedded software, connectivity and system interfaces. You are not expected to be the deepest technical expert in every domain—the responsibility remains with the respective Engineering teams. Instead, you will provide the independent quality perspective that connects these domains and ensures that the complete product is adequately verified, integrated, and ready for release.

You will work closely with Mechanical Engineering, System Engineering, Embedded Software / Electronics, Product Management, suppliers and eventually Manufacturing and Service teams.

Key responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and review verification and validation activities for components, subsystems, and complete e‑bike systems.
  • Define and govern Minimum Test Requirements (MTRs) together with Engineering and suppliers, including appropriate test methods, conditions, sample sizes, and acceptance criteria.
  • Review Supplier validation plans and test evidence, and challenge whether the proposed verification provides sufficient evidence that product requirements are met.
  • Drive and coordinate system integration and end‑to‑end testing to ensure hardware, software, connectivity, and mobile app functions work reliably together.
  • Own and maintain the FRACAS process, leading investigations into complex mechanical, electrical, software, and system‑level issues through root‑cause analysis, corrective actions, verification, and continuous learning.
  • Define and coordinate reliability, durability, environmental, and field‑testing programs to identify risks and improve product robustness before launch.
  • Coordinate homologation and certification testing, and release readiness reviews, ensuring compliance requirements are met and product quality is maintained throughout development.
What success looks like

Success in this role means that, as we move from prototypes toward production, we can confidently answer key questions about product readiness:
What are the critical requirements? How are they being verified? Are the tests sufficiently rigorous? What issues have been found, and have the fixes been proven effective?

You will ensure that verification activities, test results, product configurations, and compliance evidence are well structured, traceable, and visible, enabling informed decisions on product readiness, certification status, and release milestones.

Success also means establishing a robust FRACAS and problem‑solving culture where issues are identified early, investigated systematically, resolved through verified corrective actions, and used to drive continuous improvement across products and processes.

Ultimately, you will help build confidence that the complete e‑bike and its system is reliable, compliant, and ready for launch, not just at the component level but as an integrated product.

Engineering teams will see Quality as a trusted partner that helps identify risks early, challenge assumptions…
