Senior SAP Business IT Specialist – SAP System Decommissioning & Archiving

Sub-contract possible if you are outside of Switzerland

Location: Bern, Switzerland (Hybrid – remote possible after onboarding)

Duration: Until the end of 2026 with strong possibility of extension

We're supporting a major enterprise transformation programme and are looking for a Senior SAP Business IT Specialist with deep expertise in SAP system decommissioning, data archiving, and legacy system retirement
.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in a large-scale SAP S/4

HANA transformation, helping design the future-state solution for retiring legacy SAP environments while ensuring compliance, data integrity, and long-term accessibility.

• Lead and coordinate SAP decommissioning activities across multiple stakeholders.
• Design the future solution for data and document retention after SAP legacy systems are retired.
• Analyse and consolidate business and technical requirements.
• Produce functional specifications, configuration documentation, process documentation, and WRICEF specifications.
• Define architecture decisions for the target solution.
• Create and coordinate test scenarios.
• Work closely with business teams, architects, and technical stakeholders using Agile methodologies.

• 5+ years of experience in SAP system decommissioning and data archiving
  .
• Strong understanding of complex SAP landscapes and SAP legacy system retirement.
• Hands‑on knowledge of:
• SAP R/3
• SAP Solution Manager
• Jira
• Confluence
• Experience producing functional specifications and technical documentation.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Fluent German (C1) and English (B2) are required.

• Experience with KGS Archive or similar SAP archiving solutions.
• Knowledge of SAP Asset Management (PM/EAM).
• Experience with third‑party SAP archiving technologies.
• Exposure to SAP integration and migration projects.
