A leading telecom company is looking for a System Engineer Open Source Collab based in Bern, Switzerland.
- The goal of this digital transformation is to strengthen Switzerland's defense capabilities and leverage the opportunities of technological progress as a key to success. As a Dev Ops Engineer specializing in operations, your focus will be on the engineering, stabilization, and secure development of the relevant services and platforms. You will ensure standardized, reproducible, and secure operations across diverse environments.
Close collaboration with the product owner and development teams to achieve the project goals. - Implementation of stable open-source applications that meet high security requirements.
- Continuous development of the solutions used.
- Use of modern technologies to support a secure and stable private cloud infrastructure
- A technical qualification (EFZ) with further education (FH/HF) in computer science is desirable.
- Proven knowledge of Linux system administration (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, ideally Open Shift).
- Implementation experience with common open-source applications on the aforementioned platforms.
- Understanding of network technologies, web servers (Apache/Nginx), databases (
MariaDB /MySQL/PostgreSQL) and security concepts - Proficient in using automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible)
- Knowledge of infrastructure and operational automation (Git Ops), "Everything as Code", CI/CD
- Knowledge of Next Could and open
Desk, Atlassian Suite (Confluence & Jira) and monitoring tools (Zabbix) Experience with LDAP/SSO integrations - Enthusiasm for open-source technologies and agile working methods (SAFe 6.0)
- Teamwork skills, enjoyment of customer contact, strong communication skills and a solution-oriented work style
- Confident handling of specialists on the client side.
- Excellent German and English, both spoken and written.
- Installation, integration and configuration of
- Applications on Linux servers (RHEL) and Open Shift
- Automation (e.g., with Ansible)
- Supporting the operational departments in troubleshooting
- Creation of documentation, user manuals and instructions
- Training and introduction of new tools
- Further development of the existing infrastructure (redundancies, automation, logging, monitoring)
- Further development of scripts and tooling (Python and Shell)
- Collaboration with Dev Sec Ops , network, and security teams
