Maintenance Manager

Overview

The Maintenance Manager will lead a team of maintenance technicians in a 24/7 plant environment, working closely with the Site Director and collaborating with Corporate Engineering, Quality, Production, and Safety. The role focuses on continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and efficient maintenance operations.

• Manage maintenance personnel, including job assignments, training, and development.
• Provide on‑hour and off‑hour emergency response to major equipment issues, damage control, and personnel assignment as needed.
• Ensure regulatory compliance by enforcing all company policies, SOPs, HACCP guidelines, GMPs, and safety rules and procedures.
• Advise management of discrepancies and provide necessary documentation.
• Maintain and store all tools and maintenance equipment so it is easily accessible and in good working order.
• Deliver maintenance programs with an emphasis on OEE based performance and industry KPI standards.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and backup equipment/parts.
• Administer the department budget within established guidelines.
• Manage a safe working environment for all maintenance personnel.
• Inspect and audit completed work for conformance and compliance, and suggest improvement ideas.
• Maintain and use the Preventative Maintenance program / work order program, ensuring personnel follow its guidelines.
• Proactively decrease downtime and maintenance cost.
• Assist the Engineering Department with project development and implementation.
• Ensure maintenance activities and personnel comply with SQF Level 3 requirements.
• Manage the calibration of required equipment.
• Manage outside contractors for equipment repair and support.

• Familiarity with OSHA requirements.
• Fundamental understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Broad depth of experience and knowledge of production machinery and equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to multi‑task and be self‑motivated.
• Experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems a plus.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field or commensurate experience.
• Experience:
  
  Five or more years of maintenance management experience.
