Job Overview

Quality Assurance Intern – Bern Manufacturing Site, Mondelēz International

• Support and independently perform sampling, analytical, microbiological, and sensory testing of products and the production environment in line with inspection plans, specifications, and legal requirements.
• Support the evaluation and interpretation of test and analysis results and contribute to decisions related to product release, blocking, and corrective actions in case of deviations.
• Support the release of raw materials, semi‑finished products, and finished products, ensuring that quality and food safety requirements are met.
• Review and support the management of Certificates of Analysis for raw materials and packaging materials.
• Perform hygiene and environmental controls according to established inspection plans, including checks following cleaning and maintenance activities.
• Support the preparation and execution of sensory testing activities.
• Maintain retention sample storage and ensure relevant documentation is kept up to date.
• Create and update laboratory‑related documents, procedures, and instructions.
• Ensure laboratory activities are performed in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), internal company standards, legal requirements, and official testing methods.
• Support the maintenance, calibration, and compliance of laboratory equipment and testing instruments.
• Assist with ordering laboratory consumables and maintaining a clean, safe, and well‑organized laboratory environment.
• Work in a safety‑ and environmentally‑conscious manner, following applicable regulations, legal requirements, and internal policies.

• Final‑year student status or recent graduation in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
• Interest in Quality Assurance, food safety, laboratory testing, and manufacturing processes.
• Structured and analytical mindset with good attention to detail.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Fluency in English at a working level;
  German is a plus.
• Proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Responsible approach to following quality, safety, hygiene, and compliance requirements.
