Overview

Our charity fund has around £100 million of research each year into all heart and circulatory diseases and the things that cause them. Heart diseases, stroke, vascular dementia, diabetes – they're all connected and all under our microscope. Volunteers help us fund lifesaving science to improve the lives of families and loved ones living with heart and circulatory disease. Volunteering with us is easy, flexible, and inclusive.

If you can spare a few hours a week, or a couple of hours occasionally, we’d love you to join our volunteer team.

Interested in collectibles, homewares and bric‑brac? If this sounds like you, then this could be your perfect volunteering role. You’ll help create exciting, eye‑catching displays of collectibles and homewares in our store and select and prepare donated homewares for sale. This is an opportunity to share your skills or get a taster of a career in retail while helping us create a world free from the fear of heart disease.

We are unable to accept volunteers under 17 or with unspent criminal convictions. Please note this is an unpaid voluntary position in a friendly charity shop.

Responsibilities

Typical tasks include:

  • Following our display guidelines and using your creative skills to maintain attractive displays of homewares in our charity store
  • Keeping our homewares department fully stocked with fresh items
  • Sorting and cleaning donated ornaments, collectibles, and pictures
  • Following our guidelines to value and price donated ornaments, collectibles, and pictures
Benefits
  • 25% discount on donated goods and 10% discount on new goods in our shops
  • Unlimited, free, and confidential support by Retail Trust
  • Access to training and development
  • Reasonable travel expenses reimbursed
  • Refreshments available
  • Volunteer certificates, references and long‑service awards provided
  • Access to discounts with other retailers
Availability

This role is available at various times on the following days:
Monday, Tuesday.
