Position: Tesco Colleague Superstore

Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £13.28 an hour; this increases to £14.55 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

It is our policy to offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if you would like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too and would still love to hear from you.

We seek colleagues who are available to work during the following availability windows. Your contracted hours will be scheduled within these times, and you will receive about three weeks' notice of your exact shifts. We support flexibility, so if your availability closely matches these windows we would still love to hear from you.

Availability Window
  • Sunday: 12:00 – 16:00
  • Monday: 16:00 – 24:00
  • Thursday: 16:00 – 24:00
  • Saturday: 16:00 – 24:00

Responsibilities
  • Know your customers and serve them with passion and pride; give great natural service.
  • Be passionate and knowledgeable about the products and services within the store.
  • Work across the store in service, picking and replenishment areas where required.
  • Apply the training received to work safely, effectively and serve customers brilliantly.
  • Make decisions that are right for customers, delivering routines that meet their needs at the right time.
  • Participate in seasonal, community and charity events, creating an inclusive atmosphere.
  • Understand the store’s performance, what your part is, and how to drive service, sales, reduce waste and shrink, and deliver profit.
  • Handle products with care to maintain quality and ensure they reach customers in the best condition.
  • Live the values, make everyone feel welcome and always follow the policies.
  • Be required to accept deliveries into the store as needed.
Requirements
  • A passion for delivering great service, greeting customers with a smile and serving them with pride.
  • The ability to build rapport with customers, ensuring they leave having experienced a great shopping trip.
  • The initiative to make decisions that are right for customers.
  • Work well within a team and communicate openly with others.
  • Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit, having fun and celebrating success.
  • Be punctual, well presented and ready to be a brand ambassador.
