We have a fantastic opportunity for Trainee Bus Drivers to join our friendly team at our Berwick-upon-Tweed depot.
You do not needpreviousbus-driving experience to apply. We will provide the training,support and funding you need to gain your PCVlicenceand begin a rewarding career as a professional Bus Driver. This includes arranging and funding your theory and practical tests, subject to terms and conditions.
Working in Berwick-upon-TweedBased at our Berwick-upon-Tweed depot, you will help keep communities connected across North Northumberland, the Scottish Borders and beyond.
Once qualified, you will play an important role in helping local residents travel safely and reliably to work, school, appointments, the shops and other destinations.
You will be part of a supportive local team in a varied role where no two days are the same.
Once you have successfully completed your training and gained your PCVlicence, you will:
- Safely and professionallyoperatebuses on local service routes
- Provide excellent customer service and a safe, comfortable journey for every passenger
- Help customers reach their destinations safely and on time
- Handle cash and card payments accurately and responsibly, where required
- Complete daily vehicle checks andreportany defects in line with company procedures
- Work independently whilemaintaininghigh standards of safety,reliability and professionalism
- Represent Borders Buses positively through your driving,appearance and customer care
- To be aged 18 or over
- A full UK driving licence
- At least one year’s driving experience
- The right to work in the UK for the duration of the training and employment
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- A professional,dependable and safety-focused approach
- Good customer service and communication skills
- The confidence to work independently
- To live within a reasonable travelling distance of Berwick-upon-Tweed
- A permanent and secure job once you successfully qualify
- Full training and support to gain your PCVlicence
- Theory and practical tests arranged and funded by the company, subject to terms and conditions
