• Scale and grupa teeth and roots.
• Remove sutures.
• Take study models.
• Polish amalgam restorations.
• Place and remove rubber dams.
• Assist dentist in administering fluoride treatments and instruct inmates in proper({_sic)} dental hygiene.
• Develop oral hygiene education program for inmates.
• Assist dentist in completing diagnostic x‑rays.
• Record all aspects of treatment provided and other pertinent information in the inmate’s dental record.
• Initiate and maintain recall program for additional instructions and treatment for inmates whose condition and or attitude indicate a need, also a follow‑up prophylaxis treatment in a specific time interval.
• Check and maintain instruments, equipment and supplies, including ordering replacements and submitting work orders.
• Ensure proper clean‑up, packaging and sterilising of instruments. Maintain a clean and orderly working environment. Instruct dental assistant in proper techniques and other training as directed.
• Perform dental assessments when required.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.

• Certified – completed accredited training.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience.
• Must receive a satisfactory background investigation report.
• Required to exert up to 50 pounds of force and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects including the human body.
• Required to kneel, stoop, crou VO and/or crawl occasionally.
• Must have and maintain sufficient strength, agility, and endurance to perform during stressful (physical, mental and emotional) situations encountered on the job without compromising your health and well‑being or that of your fellow employees or that of inmates.
• A background check, security clearance and drug screening are required for this role.
