• After authorization, administer PRN medications.
• Organize assigned medication duties to pour, pass, and document routine prescribed medications and give PRN medication only under instruction.
• Document all PRN’s according to State Standards.
• Observe and report reactions and side effects to the licensed nurse.
• Take and record vital signs before medications that could affect vitals.
• Administer and document regularly prescribed medications after preparation; record in clinical record.
• Administer oxygen per nasal channel or non-sealing mask only in an emergency; notify and document promptly.
• At charge nurse’s discretion, count narcotics, give routine prescribed narcotics, and document.

• Successfully completed state‑approved medication administration school.
• Carry current acknowledgment card or certification issued by state agency.
• Willing to abide by restrictions imposed by state agency.
• Certified nursing assistant.
