Are you ready to shape the future of industrial robotic systems?

Mujin is transforming how industrial robots perceive, plan, and execute work by bringing real‑time intelligence to the factory floor through MujinOS
, our hardware‑agnostic, software‑defined automation platform.

We are seeking an Engineering Team Manager to lead a multidisciplinary engineering organization responsible for delivering end‑to‑end robotic and intralogistics solutions. In this role, you will guide engineering execution from early concept through commissioning, ensuring technical excellence across software, mechanical design, controls, and system integration.

You will play a central role in shaping system architectures, governing engineering quality, mentoring technical leads, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards.

Position: Engineering Team Manager

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a multidisciplinary engineering team spanning software, mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering.
  • Own engineering governance across projects, approving key architectural and design decisions.
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and technical rigor across all engineering deliverables.
  • Guide engineering execution across the full project lifecycle: concept design, risk assessment, detailed engineering, integration, commissioning, and FAT/SAT.
  • Support project managers with technical risk evaluation, schedule planning, and change management.
  • Ensure alignment between technical scope, commercial constraints, and project budgets (typically €0.2–5M).
  • Oversee system‑level design covering robots, custom grippers, PLC/controls, safety systems, conveyors, AGVs/AMRs, and peripheral equipment (wrappers, labelers, etc.).
  • Review and challenge designs across domains, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and maintainable.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards, industrial norms, and internal engineering guidelines.
  • Work closely with sales and pre‑sales teams to validate technical feasibility and define solution concepts.
  • Represent engineering in customer meetings, design reviews, and acceptance testing activities.
  • Balance engineering rigor with commercial realities, customer expectations, and delivery timelines.
  • Mentor engineering leads and senior engineers, supporting technical growth and leadership development.
  • Manage resource allocation across concurrent projects and ensure sustainable team workloads.
  • Develop and continuously improve engineering processes, documentation standards, and review workflows.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience: 7–12 years in industrial automation or robotics system integration; experience with warehouse automation or automotive environments preferred.
  • Leadership: 3–5 years managing multidisciplinary engineering teams (software, mechanical, electrical/controls).
  • Project Delivery: Proven leadership of complex automation projects valued at €0.2–5M, from concept through commissioning and FAT/SAT.
  • Technical Breadth: Solid working knowledge of robotics integration, machine design, end‑of‑arm tooling, PLCs/industrial networks, safety standards, and software development practices; able to review, challenge, and guide designs across domains.
  • Process & Quality: Experience establishing engineering workflows, design reviews, documentation standards, and change control in project‑driven organizations.
  • Stakeholder

    Skills:

Strong communication skills; comfortable presenting technical topics to customers and balancing engineering rigor with commercial constraints.
Nice to Have
  • Exposure to WMS/WES integration or facility‑level software architectures.
  • Experience with digital twin workflows or advanced robot motion planning / teach‑less automation concepts.
