Sustaining Domain Leader – Dynamic Field Subsystem (DFS), MR Development
OverviewIn this role, you provide end‑to‑end leadership of sustaining activities for the Dynamic Field Subsystem within MR Development. You manage incoming requests, oversee solution delivery, and lead a multidisciplinary international team to ensure product quality, continuity of supply, and lifecycle performance of MRI system components.
Responsibilities- Lead the full sustaining process for all DFS‑owned components, from intake to solution delivery and quality review.
- Evaluate and triage incoming requests (e.g., customer complaints, quality issues, reliability improvements) and define the appropriate R&D response.
- Manage the request‑for‑solutions funnel, including prioritization, resource allocation, and competency planning.
- Oversee execution of accepted requests: task assignment, progress tracking, and quality control.
- Act as first‑line R&D contact for critical issues, including urgent logistical challenges such as end‑of‑life notifications.
- Lead and maintain governance structures (e.g., business programming board, RFS update meetings).
- Ensure knowledge management and continuous improvement of sustaining processes.
- Coordinate crisis responses to safeguard supply‑chain continuity and production.
- Lead a diverse team (internal and external engineers) across disciplines (electrical, mechanical, systems, manufacturing, service).
- Collaborate with suppliers, Operations, and Customer Support on design, manufacturability, quality, and installed‑base issues.
- BSc or MSc in Engineering, Technical Physics, or Biomedics.
- Approximately 4+ years of experience with MRI hardware.
- Approximately 4+ years of project management experience.
- CAPM‑level understanding of PMBoK and familiarity with PRINCE2 and/or Agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of design methodologies such as DFSS.
- Experience with design controls, document control systems, and relevant standards (FDA, IEC).
- Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Azure Dev Ops and PTC Windchill.
- Fluent English communication at a technical/academic level (C1).
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, act proactively, and maintain a strong quality mindset with a focus on patient safety.
- Thrives in a multidisciplinary, international, and fast‑paced environment.
This position requires working onsite in the office for a minimum of three days per week.
