Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN), under the supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer, provides physical assessments of residents, implements resident's treatment plan, evaluates response to treatment, provides complete documentation, performs physical restraint assessments, administers medications as prescribed, and provides health care education for residents and families. The RN supervises the daily duties of the Mental Health Techs and LPN staff, and assures that all residents are maintained in a safe environment.

Performs duties in accordance with the ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care, and facility mission, values, policies, and behavioral standards.

Shift Availability

FT 12hr shifts available: 7am-7:30pm or 7pm-7:30am.

Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital Locations

Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital at OKC and Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital at Bethany (both UHS facilities) are hiring for both shifts. Sign‑on bonus options up to $15,000 are available. The Bethany location is a 56‑bed psychiatric hospital offering adult behavioral health programs and treatment services. It provides crisis stabilization and medication management for patients with disorders such as depression, anxiety, mood disorders, paranoia, and schizophrenia, and offers a secure haven for patients with suicidal or homicidal thoughts.

The Bethany adult inpatient program serves individuals over the age of 18 with severe mental illness impacting their ability to function. The OKC location offers inpatient and residential treatment services for ages 5‑17, providing a structured and supportive environment that promotes self‑acceptance and helps stabilize patients suffering from acute psychiatric illness. The multidisciplinary teams at Cedar Ridge comprise psychiatrists, licensed therapists, and highly specialized nurses who collaborate to develop and implement effective, compassionate treatment plans.

The facility encompasses a 116‑bed acute psychiatric hospital and residential treatment center on a beautifully wooded campus with a stocked pond, school, outdoor courtyard, and playground.

Qualifications
  • Valid Oklahoma RN license required
  • CPR certification preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
  • BSN or Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of one (1) year psychiatric experience in mental health nursing preferred
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Successfully complete a drug test
  • Successfully pass a national background check
  • Physical agility to manage patients
  • Ability to push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds
  • Strong Computer skills
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Strong Leadership skills
  • Exposure to psychiatric patients who may exhibit violent/aggressive behavior
  • Potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood/body fluids and other hazardous waste
