Job Purpose:

The Complex Care Charge Nurse is the dedicated resource that supports, plans, leads and evaluates direct patient care activities during assigned shift. This position provides and oversees skilled nursing care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and requires staff accountability for compliance with regulatory and professional standards for patient care and staff.

• Supervises and supports nursing staff in provision of outstanding patient care - 30%
• Performs skilled nursing care in accordance with Nurse Practice Act - 30%
• Performs administrative duties such as recordkeeping, multi-disciplinary communication, scheduling and other necessary tasks to ensure daily operations are complete - 20%
• Coach and assist nursing staff with clinical instructions, mentor and guide as needed.

• Serve as liaison with patients families and patient care team to ensure quality - 5%
• Other duties as assigned - 5%

Education:

• Associates RN, Bachelor's Degree preferred in Nursing. Ability to speak, understand, read, and write English required.

Experience:

• 1+ year as RN Staff preferred.

License/Certification/Credential:

• Registration and current RN license in Oklahoma. CPR and PALS Certification.

• Week 1:
  Monday-Friday from 8:00am 4:30pm
• Week 2:
  Tuesday-Thursday from 6:30am-7:00pm
• Week 3:
  Tuesday-Thursday 6:30am-7:00pm

Training Requirements for Week 1:
This involves a variety of trainings. On Monday, you will onboard and learn about hospital requirements and culture from HR. Tuesday, you will complete RT training. Wednesday is Nursing Orientation. Thursday is New Employee Orientation for all BCHC new hires. Friday is a trauma informed care class called Mandt that we require of all employees.

Training Requirements for Week 2:
This week will include a thorough rehabilitation training day, our Meditech EMR system training, and other required courses related to your position (ie. Health Stream, Lippincott, BLS course, PALS course, etc.).

Training Requirements for Week 3:
Packet training week includes all nursing specific trainings. During this week you will complete mandatory online classrooms specific for your job title, and complete hands-on skills at the bedside and with our nurse educators.

Please keep in mind that all full time, part time, and occasional employees are required to attend these trainings and orientations.
