Everyone knows the pool is the coolest place to be in the summer. Join our Aquatics Team to make sure everyone can enjoy the pool in a safe and welcoming environment. Whether you’re a lifeguard, a swim instructor, or a little bit of both, you’re going to love working in aquatics at the Y because you’re helping swimmers feel confident and gain experience in the water.

No lifeguard experience? No problem, we’ll train you!

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Swim Team Coach to lead our swim program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for swimming, a strong background in coaching, and the ability to inspire and develop athletes of all skill levels.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and implement training programs for the swim team.
• Conduct regular practices and provide individual coaching to team members.
• Monitor athlete performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Foster a positive and inclusive team environment.
• Organize and oversee swim meets and competitions.
• Collaborate with parents, athletes, and other coaches to promote the swim program.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in swimming.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Proven experience as a swim coach or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of swimming techniques and training methods.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire athletes.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred.
• Background in competitive swimming is a plus.
