Position: Licensed Practical Nurse, OP - OB/GYN (Bethel Park, PA)

University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support their Greater Pittsburgh OB/GYN office in Bethel Park!

This position will work Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm with no weekends or holidays! One shift until 6:00pm per week may be required, as needed. The LPN will assist RNs with daily duties such as test results, OB teaching, ONAF submissions, rooming of patients, injections, vital signs, and answering phones and scheduling appointments as needed.

Sign-On Bonus Details:
  • $7,500 sign-on bonus available for nurses with over one year of experience
  • $5,000 sign-on bonus available for Graduate Nurses and nurses with less than one year of experience

Responsibilities:
  • Draw blood.
  • Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
  • Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.
  • Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
  • Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures.
  • Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.
  • Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
  • Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
Qualifications

Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing. One year clinical experience preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
