In this autonomous, high-impact field role, you will take total ownership of mobile diagnostics, heavy hydraulic repairs, engine overhauls, and emergency roadside recovery for our specialized pavement marking fleet, Class 8 transport trucks, and heavy construction equipment. Dispatched in a fully equipped mobile service truck, you will troubleshoot real-time mechanical failures away from the shop bay to keep active highway and commercial projects moving.
If you bring a strong background in diesel diagnostics, hydraulic schematics, field welding, and a commitment to uptime, PLP Co. provides top-tier hourly pay, paid CDL training, uncapped overtime, and a stable year-round platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Mobile Field Diagnostics & Repairs:
Troubleshoot, isolate, and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic failures on-site across light-duty fleet trucks, Class 8 transport vehicles, and specialized heavy construction machinery. - Hydraulic & Electrical Systems Mastery:
Execute preventative maintenance and complex system overhauls using OEM blueprints, wiring schematics, high-pressure hydraulic circuits, and pneumatic diagrams. - Emergency Field & Roadside Recovery:
Provide rapid-response tactical repair assistance for jobsite breakdowns—executing structural repairs under tight time constraints or coordinating heavy towing logistics. - Field Fabrication & Structural Welding:
Perform custom structural cutting, torching, and wire-feed/stick welding (MIG/SMAW) to adapt, reinforce, or repair field components on active jobsites. - Quality Assurance & Safety Inspection:
Rigorously inspect and test all field-repaired equipment to guarantee 100% operational safety, mechanical reliability, and performance before returning assets to active service. - DOT Compliance & Regulatory Inspections:
Perform routine vehicle inspections, assist with official DOT compliance tracking, and ensure all fleet assets meet state and federal safety regulations.
