The Yukon‑Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health‑care organization serving nearly 30,000 people across rural, southwest Alaska. Bethel, the regional hub, has a population of nearly 7,000 and is home to the region’s only hospital.

Performs technical, patient care and related clerical functions in an ambulatory setting under direct supervision of a physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner.

• Minimum Education
  :
  High school diploma or equivalent and 2‑year certification program as Medical Assistant.
• Minimum Experience
  :
  Outpatient care experience preferred.
• License, Certification, Registration
  :
  Completed a formal accredited training program and received national Certified Medical Assistant certificate. CPR Certification.
• Equipment/Tools
  :
  Office machines (e.g., multi‑line telephones, copy machines, computer, etc.) and medical equipment as appropriate for position.
• Specialized Knowledge and Skills
  :
  Good human relations and oral/written communication skills. Bilingual Yup’ik/English preferred.
• Language Skills
  :
  Ability to read, comprehend, write, and present information to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Mathematical Skills
  :
  Ability to perform basic arithmetic, compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and interpret bar graphs.
• Common Sense
  :
  Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions and handle problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
