Job Opportunity

This position involves providing quality nursing care to all patients while being an integral member of the nursing staff. The role emphasizes respect for patient rights and dignity, ensuring that care is tailored to patients of all ages, from birth to the elderly. Responsibilities may vary based on the assignments and areas of work.

• Deliver compassionate and quality nursing care to all patients.
• Collaborate with Health Aides to ensure patient rooms are adequately stocked and check-lists are maintained.
• Assist in ordering medical supplies as needed.
• Screen phone calls and provide support to mid-level practitioners in the clinic during after-hours.
• Apply age-specific considerations and cultural awareness in patient care.
• Support the overall mission of the healthcare organization.

Graduate from an accredited LPN or LVN nursing program. Must possess a valid LPN license in good standing in the State of Alaska.

• New graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Preferred:
  One year of hospital experience.

• Current CPR certification (BLS) required.
• Must have a valid LPN license in good standing in the State of Alaska.
• IV certification course (preferred).
• Non-violent crisis intervention certification (preferred).

• Office machines (e.g., multi-line telephones, computers, copy machines).
• Medical equipment as appropriate (e.g., dynamap, thermometer).

• Strong understanding of medical terminology.
• Ability to work effectively in a patient care setting.
• Knowledge and experience working with psychiatric patients.

If guaranteed hours are 40 per week, the initial week may not provide guaranteed hours due to orientation starting on a Tuesday. Proof of completed COVID vaccinations is required for all candidates.
