Summary Job Goal:
Under the supervision of the Lands and Cultural Resources Division, the Brownfield Coordinator is responsible for fulfilling the programmatic activities outlined in AVCP’s current EPA BRP grant proposal and work plans, complying with EPA budgetary and reporting requirements, finalizing pending proposals for the upcoming fiscal year, and coordinating with AVCP regional communities and other entities to assess, clean up, and redevelop contaminated sites, referred to as Brownfields.
- Performance Responsibilities: includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Implements all aspects of the EPA IGAP program at AVCP.
- Provides technical assistance and support to village IGAP coordinators and tribal staff.
- Assists tribes with program development based on frequent needs assessment.
- Organizes training and technical workshops for tribal environmental staff, often in collaboration with independent contractors.
- Collaborates with the Kuskokwim River Watershed Council and other tribal consortia.
- Produces quarterly narrative reports and other ad hoc reports to the EPA in compliance with grant requirements.
- Participates in teleconferences with the EPA and tribal IGAP coordinators.
- Maintains familiarity with current state and federal environmental statutes and implementing regulations.
- Frequently travels to villages throughout the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta Region
