Design Engineer
LocationBethel, CT
Responsibilities- Lead the design and development of new products or systems from concept to production.
- Create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software.
- Perform engineering analyses including Finite Element Analysis (FEA), tolerance analysis, and simulation.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as product management, manufacturing, and quality assurance to ensure design intent and requirements are met.
- Participate in and lead design reviews; provide mentorship and technical support to junior engineers and technicians.
- Identify and troubleshoot design issues through iterative testing and root cause analysis.
- Ensure all designs adhere to applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best engineering practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in product design, mechanical or electrical engineering, or related discipline.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD, Creo).
- Strong grasp of engineering principles and design fundamentals.
- Hands‑on experience with engineering analysis tools and techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to deliver high‑quality technical documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented, cross‑functional environment.
- Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and compliance regulations.
- Experience with rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing technologies.
