Design Engineer

Location

Bethel, CT

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of new products or systems from concept to production.
  • Create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software.
  • Perform engineering analyses including Finite Element Analysis (FEA), tolerance analysis, and simulation.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as product management, manufacturing, and quality assurance to ensure design intent and requirements are met.
  • Participate in and lead design reviews; provide mentorship and technical support to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Identify and troubleshoot design issues through iterative testing and root cause analysis.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best engineering practices.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–6 years of experience in product design, mechanical or electrical engineering, or related discipline.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD, Creo).
  • Strong grasp of engineering principles and design fundamentals.
  • Hands‑on experience with engineering analysis tools and techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to deliver high‑quality technical documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented, cross‑functional environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
  • Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and compliance regulations.
  • Experience with rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing technologies.
