The Fine Jewelry Sales Associate is a full‑time, on‑site role based at Quality Gem in Bethel, CT. This role involves greeting customers, understanding their needs, and guiding them through the selection of fine jewelry, diamonds, gemstones, and custom pieces. The associate will present and explain product features, quality, and pricing; assist customers with jewelry repair intake and custom design projects; handle sales transactions;

maintain accurate records; and assist with inventory management and merchandise displays.

Daily responsibilities also include cleaning and organizing showcases, supporting jewelry inspections and service intake, and following store policies and security procedures. The role requires providing an exceptional in‑store experience, building repeat business, and contributing to a professional, welcoming atmosphere.

• Jewelry knowledge and previous experience in the fine jewelry industry are required, including familiarity with precious metals, diamonds, gemstones, jewelry repair intake, and the custom jewelry design process.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain jewelry details, listen carefully to customer needs, and collaborate with team members.
• Customer service, customer satisfaction, and customer experience skills that help create a welcoming environment and foster long‑term relationships.
• Retail sales skills, including consultative selling, product presentation, product knowledge, and accurate handling of transactions.
• Attention to detail, professionalism, and integrity when handling fine jewelry, diamonds, gemstones, repairs, and other high‑value items.
• Ability to assist and advise customers confidently with jewelry repairs and custom design projects.
• Comfort using point-of-sale systems and basic computer applications; familiarity with The Edge point-of-sale system is a plus.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work a flexible schedule, including Saturdays and extended hours in December as business needs require.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in jewelry, sales, or gemology is a plus.
