Position: Extended Day (PMX) Camp Counselor - MD

Extended Day (PMX) Camp Counselor – MD

Apply to join Headfirst Summer Camps as an Extended Day (PMX) Camp Counselor in Maryland.

Pay Range
  • $11.00/hr – $15.65/hr
Schedule
  • In‑season (late June through mid August): 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm Monday – Friday
  • Pre‑season (May and early June): select weekends for training and site preparation
Camper Ages
  • 3‑12 years old

Responsibilities
  • Lead a group of 12 to 16 campers with a co‑counselor through a pre‑written curriculum and planned schedule.
  • Teach pre‑written curriculum and engage campers during break times.
  • Implement Headfirst’s safety protocols on supervision, bathrooms, emergency medications, and camper behavior management.
  • Bring camp to life with enthusiasm, dedication, and un‑matched energy.
  • Nurture physical, social & emotional safety by supporting campers in break‑time activities.
  • Represent Headfirst for families and facility partners and act as a brand ambassador.
  • Arrive on time, communicate schedule changes promptly, and maintain consistent teamwork.
  • Handle challenges with a resilient, proactive mindset focused on camper experience and team success.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Work around small children, including sitting, standing, running, and climbing stairs for the full day.
  • Work in hot, outdoor environments while supervising campers and participating in dynamic activities for extended periods.
  • Lift and carry up to 30 pounds occasionally.
  • Commit to the Cell‑Phone Free policy, powering down and storing phones in a locked pouch during shifts.
