Montgomery County Public Schools invites applications for a full‑time English teacher at Walt Whitman High School, Bethesda.

• Under direction of the school principal, plan and provide appropriate learning experiences for students.
• Create an atmosphere conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students to ensure success for every student.
• Supervise students in a variety of school‑related settings.
• Monitor and evaluate student outcomes.
• Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and the community.
• Develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
• Maintain appropriate records and follow required procedures and practices.
• Monitor appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.

• Knowledge of MCPS curriculum, techniques for integrating curriculum, MCPS policies, and effective instructional practices.
• Understanding of the teaching/learning process.
• Ability to provide instruction that reflects multiple perspectives and multicultural education.
• Ability to infuse technology into curriculum.
• Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office, school‑based staff, students, parents, and the community.
• Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.
• 7/2008 TGPS statement was added to KSA.
• Bachelor's degree in applicable field of education from an accredited college or university.
• Certificate/license:
  Meets Maryland state certification requirements in appropriate field of education.
• Minimum of five years full‑time industry experience in the discipline taught within the last ten years, or a bachelor’s degree in education with demonstrated industry experience, is required.

Salary range: $64,591 – $131,472 based on education and experience.
