Principal Elasticsearch Systems Engineer – National Security Sector's (NSS) Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA) at Leidos

The Principal Elasticsearch Systems Engineer supports an Agile team in a Dev Sec Ops  environment, providing design, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting for a large enterprise Elasticsearch deployment across AWS cloud and on‑prem environments. The role collaborates with architecture, engineering, development, and operations teams to ensure production scalability, stability, and data integrity.

• Maintain Elasticsearch clusters in a multi‑availability zone cloud environment.
• Optimize and tune Elasticsearch clusters for performance, search, indexing, and security.
• Ensure clusters run under optimal conditions and are upgraded as allowed by dependent applications.
• Maintain infrastructure to guarantee performance and data integrity.

• 3+ years of experience with Elasticsearch administration.
• Direct experience maintaining and integrating Elasticsearch within an operational enterprise information system.
• Experience in an Agile development environment.
• Experience deploying Elasticsearch on commercial cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
• Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience or Master's with 10+ years (additional work experience may substitute).
• TS/SCI with Poly is required.

• Experience working on the customer’s systems.
• Understanding of customer system development policies.
• Additional certifications related to Elasticsearch.
