Systems Engineer​/Senior Network Architect

Overview

GovCIO is hiring a Systems Engineer – Level III / Senior Network Architect for the NIH‑CIT Proposal. Located in Rockville, MD. Hybrid role.

• Coordinate with Section Manager to evaluate, design, and test architecture designs and services from the roadmap backlog.
• Lead the transition of user‑accepted designs and services to Operations and Security Teams.
• Provide subject matter expertise in Site‑to‑Site VPN.
• Provide subject matter expertise in Remote Access VPN.
• Strategically plan, architect, design, engineer, develop, test, implement, modernize, and enhance NIH Network and TIC Services aligning with NIH future state architecture objectives.
• Software and hardware installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with Security Section to achieve security architecture requirements.
• Maintain technical architecture documentation.
• Troubleshooting and problem resolution.
• Change management.
• Support resources responsible for security implementation, monitoring, maintenance, and vulnerability remediation.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 8+ years of Network Services experience or Cisco CCIE certification (Routing and Switching, Service Provider, Data Center, Wireless).
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
