We are now looking for a Field Service Engineer based in Italy (region Milan) to support our expanding European customer base.
The RoleAs a Field Service Engineer, you will be the face of Fike at customer sites, delivering high-quality technical service on our explosion suppression and isolation systems. This is a opportunity ideal for a self-motivated engineer who enjoys travel, autonomy, and hands-on technical challenges.
When not travelling, you will carry out administrative and reporting tasks from home.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform commissioning, preventative and reactive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on Fike explosion vent systems at customer locations
Diagnose technical faults, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions
Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers
Build strong, professional relationships by delivering exceptional service
Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation
Plan and manage your own schedule, including travel and accommodation
Travel frequently, sometimes at short notice, across Italy and mainland Europe
Participate in an emergency call-out rota as required
Ensure full compliance with Fike SHEQ policies and applicable regulatory requirements
Support other European regions when required
What We’re Looking ForStrong electrical, mechanical, and electronic engineering skills
Multi-skilled background in electrical, mechanical, controls & instrumentation
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
Calm, professional, and diplomatic approach—comfortable working under pressure
Excellent problem-solving skills and strong technical aptitude
Comfortable working independently in varied industrial environments
Willingness to travel extensively (80–90%)
Confident communicator, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical customers
Qualifications & ExperienceQualification in a relevant engineering discipline (electrical, mechanical, or similar)
Experienced engineers are welcome, but we are also open to newly graduated candidates with a technical degree
For graduates: strong willingness to learn, passion for technology, and a high sense of responsibility to work independently are essential
Proficient with Windows, Gmail, Word, and Excel
Fluent in Italian and English (spoken and written)
