Mechanical Engineer

Position: Mechanical Engineer, Staff
Overview AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.

Responsibilities Conduct static analyses of mechanical structures.

Assist the Design Team with material selection.

Conduct Quality Assurance reviews of design and engineering products.

Interface with customers and government sponsors.

Work daily with onsite government Engineers and Project Managers to ensure that information is technically accurate.

Develop project schedules, create technical reports, whitepapers.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil or structural engineering.

Ability to maintain a DOD Secret Clearance.

U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance

Physically capable to conduct ship checks on United States Nuclear Submarines:

Be comfortable in relatively confined spaces.

Capable of climbing vertical ladders (20’ – 25’) within the submarine.

At least two (2) years business experience in:

General engineering.

Working with SOLIDWORKS.Working with Microsoft Office Suite.

Working with Visio Diagram/Flowchart Software.

Pay Transparency Statement AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $/Yr.

- USD $120,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
