This is a hybrid role based out of our Bethesda, MD office. The ideal candidate will live in the Washington DC metro area and commute to the office 3 days each week. We have a modern office environment conducive to team building and collaboration located in downtown Bethesda, close to restaurants, gyms and the Metro. We meet in the office 3 days each week in order to collaborate and participate in training, coaching and team projects.

Our Finance team is looking for a highly skilled and detail‑oriented Senior Revenue Accountant to support the accounting and reporting of revenue recognition, particularly related to SaaS offerings. This position will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with ASC 606, managing contract review procedures, preparing accurate and timely revenue schedules, and streamlining revenue‑related processes. Responsibilities- Own the revenue accounting cycle, including analysis, reconciliation, and reporting of revenue in accordance with US GAAP and ASC 606.
- Review customer contracts and ensure proper revenue recognition treatment, including creating and maintaining revenue schedules within Net Suite.
- Work closely with Sales, Legal, and Billing teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of agreements, billing and revenue entries.
- Work closely with FP&A and CFO to forecast revenue including detailed analysis of actual vs forecasted revenue.
- Reconcile deferred revenue and revenue‑related balance sheet accounts monthly, and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes related to revenue, including the preparation of journal entries and revenue reporting packages.
- Support audit requirements related to revenue, including preparation of audit schedules and explanation of revenue recognition methodology.
- Contribute to the design, testing, and implementation of process improvements, system enhancements, and automation opportunities in revenue and billing operations.
- Maintain and improve internal controls over revenue accounting processes.
- Ensure all revenue accounting practices comply with internal policies, and Federal, State, and local regulations.
- Collaborate with other GL team members to support overall accounting functions and cross‑functional projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA or CPA track strongly preferred.
- 4+ years of experience in accounting, with a minimum of 2 years concentrated in revenue recognition;
SaaS or technology industry experience strongly preferred. - Strong working knowledge of ASC 606 and experience reviewing software or SaaS contracts for revenue treatment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with accounting systems such as Net Suite; experience with Salesforce, Flo Qast, or similar tools is a plus.
- Self‑motivated and detail‑oriented with exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Adhere to all organizational information security policies and protect all sensitive information including but not limited to ePHI and PHI in accordance with organizational policy and Federal, State, and local regulations.
- US citizenship or permanent residency required.
