Payroll Specialist - Part-Time

What You Will Do

You’ll prepare, process, and reconcile biweekly payrolls for both exempt and non‑exempt employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness for timecards. You’ll prepare initial payroll data, review timekeeping records focused on data integrity and communication with managers and supervisors. You’ll handle payroll inquiries with care, assist with reporting and help optimize Centrus’s payroll processes to keep them efficient and compliant.

• 1+ years of payroll experience.
• Proficiency in timekeeping and payroll systems.
• Basic understanding of payroll compliance, wage and hour laws, and tax principles.
• Intermediate Excel skills for reconciliation and reporting.
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a “Q” Clearance (if located in Oak Ridge).

Estimated Starting Base Salary Range: $20-$25/hr centrus considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

This position will require a pre‑employment background check and a pre‑employment drug test and vetting to ensure Centrus Energy can meet the requirements of 10 CFR Parts 810 and 1017 to grant access to export‑controlled information and Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information, respectively. Such access is required for the performance of this position.
