AIMS Locum Tenens is seeking experienced CT Technologists to provide radiologic services at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. The CT Technologist will produce cross-sectional images using computed tomography equipment to support accurate diagnoses and treatment plans. This role requires high technical competence, strong attention to patient safety, and the ability to function effectively in a 24/7 medical facility.
General Duties- Provide CT imaging services within the scope of DHA standards and WRNMMC protocols.
- Operate CT equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by radiologists.
- Ensure patient safety and compliance with radiologic best practices.
- Prepare and position patients for CT examinations and ensure proper alignment and imaging techniques.
- Perform contrast administration under direction and monitor for allergic reactions or complications.
- Verify physician orders, review patient histories, and determine the appropriate imaging protocols.
- Maintain daily logs, document patient information, and ensure images are stored and transmitted to PACS.
- Perform routine quality assurance and safety checks on imaging equipment.
- Collaborate with radiologists and medical staff to ensure timely and accurate patient care.
- Apply proper radiation protection techniques for patients and staff.
- Manage emergency situations calmly and efficiently (e.g., during trauma imaging).
- Assist in training and orientation of new staff or technologists as required.
- Ensure infection control procedures are strictly followed.
- Degree: Transcript verifying completion of radiology or CT program
- Education: Graduate of an accredited radiologic technologist program
- Certification:
- Certified in Computed Tomography (CT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-CT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Red Cross)
- Experience:
- At least 2 years of CT experience
, including within a hospital setting
- At least 2 years of CT experience
- Licensure: Current unrestricted U.S. state license (if applicable)
- In-depth knowledge of CT imaging protocols and emergency scanning procedures
- Familiarity with trauma and critical care CT protocols
- Ability to remain calm and focused during emergency situations
- Strong patient care, communication, and documentation skills
- Capable of operating and troubleshooting CT imaging equipment
- Knowledge of infection control, HIPAA, and radiology safety standards

Schedule- Part-Time / PRN – Minimum 1 shift per month
- Shifts vary:
Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Holiday - CT coverage is required 24/7; must be available for at least one of those rotating shifts
- Shifts include 8, 10, or 12 hours, based on mission needs
- Large federal hospital (WRNMMC) with emergency and trauma center
- Clinical imaging department with advanced technology and team-based collaboration
- Requires wearing PPE and following strict infection control protocols
- Must meet DHA immunization and health standards, including:
- Annual influenza vaccine
- Tuberculosis screening
- Other vaccinations as per CDC/DoD guidance
- Federal background check required
- No telework or remote services allowed
- Must comply with all MTF security protocols
