* What You Will Do:

** We are searching for a Platform Infrastructure Engineer to support future opportunities.  The person in this role will install, configure,optimize, andvalidatescientific platforms and underlying on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and performance for biomedical research and laboratory automation.  This position will be based in Bethesda, MD.  
* Design, implement, andoptimizeplatform infrastructure, including migrating from legacy on-premise solutions to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) with high reliability and scalability.
* Install and configure high-throughput screening (HTS) platforms, Automated Compound Management Systems, andplatformcomponents.
* Set up andmaintainnetworking equipment, cloud platform resources, and high-performance computing (HPC) clusters supporting scientific platforms.
* Perform platform validation, integration testing, andmaintainaudit-ready documentation, including support for Authority to Operate (ATO) processes.
* Implement andmaintainmonitoring, backup/restore, and change control processes using tools such as Nagios, Ganglia,XDMoD, and SIEMs.
* Apply industry-standard and NIH-mandated security measures, conduct vulnerability assessments, and ensure compliance with NIST, CIS, and other frameworks.
* Automate deployment workflows using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Packer.
* Collaborate with vendors, researchers, and internal teams for upgrades, lifecycle management, and solution transitions.
* Lead quarterly patch cycles and coordinate with external stakeholders.
* Support troubleshooting, diagnostics, and technical support for scientific platforms.

* What You Will Need:

*** Bachelor degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
* A minimum of TWO (2) years of platform engineering or systems integration experience; experience with cloud services and HPC environments preferred.
* Experience with laboratory automation and regulated change/configuration management.
* Familiarity with scripting (Power Shell, Python, Bash, Ruby) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
* Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, zero trust architecture, and compliance frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO 2700 Series).
* Experience with monitoring, ITSM tools (Service Now, Remedy), and infrastructure as code.
** What Would Be Nice To Have:
*** Experience supporting cloud services (AWS EC2, EKS, IAM, S3, RDS, etc.).
* Knowledge of HPC architecture, performance optimization, and scientific workflow support.
* Strong communication, documentation, and multitasking skills.

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00-$. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
