Subject Matter Expert Level III​/Senior Network Architect

Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for Subject Matter Expert – Level III / Senior Network Architect for our NIH-CIT Proposal. This position will be located in Rockville, MD and will be a hybrid position.

The SME role's responsibilities include:

• Coordinate with the Section Manager to evaluate, design, and test architecture designs and services from the roadmap backlog
• Lead the transition of user accepted designs and services to the Operations and Security Teams
• Provide subject matter expertise in appropriate architecture area

The Network Architecture Section responsibilities include:

• Strategically plan, architect, design, engineer, develop, test, implement, modernize, and enhance the functional capabilities, capacity, and performance of the NIH Network and TIC Services in alignment with NIH future state architecture objectives
• Software and hardware installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance
• Team with the Security Section to achieve security architecture requirements
• Maintain technical architecture documentation
• Troubleshooting and problem resolution
• Change management
• Support resources responsible for security implementation, monitoring, maintenance, and vulnerability remediation
• Strategic & Transformative planning for network architecture services

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related discipline and have at least one of the Cisco CCIE certifications, both the written and practical. Within each of the Cisco Certifications, the following specializations are needed and listed in order of importance:
  Routing and Switching, Service Provider, Data Center, and Wireless. O R Experience required is 8‑plus years in Network Services and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related discipline
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust
