Attorney​/Lawyer

Description We are looking for an experienced Attorney/Lawyer to join a mission-driven nonprofit organization in Bethesda, Maryland. This role focuses on corporate legal matters, particularly in the financial services industry, and offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the organization's growth and expansion. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in business transactions, commercial agreements, and compliance regulations.

Responsibilities:

- Manage and oversee business transactions and corporate contracts within the financial services sector.

- Draft, negotiate, and revise a variety of agreements with support from the General Counsel and external legal advisors.

- Ensure compliance with investment regulations and donor-advised fund policies.

- Collaborate with internal teams to address legal matters related to financial operations.

- Provide legal guidance on commercial agreements and other corporate documentation.

- Review and structure contracts to align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

- Support strategic initiatives by offering legal advice on business and financial transactions.

- Conduct research and stay updated on relevant laws and compliance standards.

- Work closely with external counsel to address complex legal issues as needed. Requirements

- A minimum of 3 years of experience in business transactions and corporate contracts within the financial services industry and nonprofit sector is required.

- Strong knowledge of donor-advised funds and investment compliance regulations.

- Demonstrated ability to draft, negotiate, and revise various types of agreements.

- Proficiency in managing commercial agreements and negotiating contract terms.

- Solid understanding of financial services and compliance requirements.

- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Effective communication skills for engaging with internal teams and external counsel.

- A Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active bar membership.
