Field Service Technician - Journeyman

Position Overview

The Homeland Group at Leidos is seeking a Non‑Intrusive Inspection System (NIIS) Field Service Technician, Journeyman in support of the IBD‑SS program’s CENTCOM and Horn of Africa areas of operations.

• Perform sustainment and preventive maintenance (PMCS) on NIIS systems and vehicle chassis.
• Conduct site surveys to determine type and placement of systems.
• Install and de‑install systems and components, and train operators and end users.
• Update databases, inform Lead of job status and any issues encountered, and track work orders including replacement of parts and serial numbers.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and electronics measuring and test equipment, and perform minor maintenance on vehicles and generators such as changing oil and filter.
• Generate and produce data and reports, and interact professionally to exhibit customer service skills and present a positive approach with customers and peers.

• Must be capable of performing analyses of system operations.
• Must have knowledge of and experience in the operations of hardware systems and components.
• Must have experience in fault detection, isolation, and correction of hardware systems and individual components.
• Must be capable of routine system maintenance and analysis functions including hardware configurations; adding, removing, and replacing hardware components; use of diagnostic testing tools; reading electronic circuit schematics; and repairing printed circuit boards.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in a non‑climate‑controlled environment.
• Must have a US passport valid for at least two years with at least four consecutive blank pages.
• Must have US Secret security clearance.
• Prior experience supporting Force Protection, Radiation and Backscatter, and other PM FPS Systems (BETSS‑C, Cerberus, Scout, IBD‑K, RDISS) is highly desirable.
• Must be willing to support up to an 84‑hour extended work week and travel OCONUS via military/commercial conveyances.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel; experience with COLTS and GCSS‑A; and compliance experience with ITAR/EXIM.
