About the FacilitySurgical Specialty Center of Mid-Atlantic is a Medicare Certified Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) located in Bethesda, MD. The ASC has one operating room and is certified by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The center serves the surrounding community and offers a range of services including orthopedic surgery, other surgery, laboratory services, pharmaceutical services, and radiology services.
The RoleThe Pre Op PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient’s condition. The RN assists physicians in procedure rooms with tasks such as conscious sedation and utilization of sterile techniques. The RN delivers comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation, including assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and family education in preparation for discharge.
Key Responsibilities- Continuously evaluate patient condition and provide patient safety, comfort, and privacy.
- Assist physicians in procedure rooms with silent sedation and sterile technique tasks.
- Provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation.
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and educate patients and families in preparation for discharge.
- Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
- Active RN license in the state.
- BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in PACU or ICU.
- Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
- Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient and unit needs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage.

Pay rate:
Min: $45 to Max: $57.00/hr.
