This position is located in the Department of OB/GYN, General Obstetrics & Gynecology at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD.
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Duties- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment, including a background investigation and credit check.
- This position involves interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis, requiring specific background investigation and periodic re-verification.
- A pre-employment Physical Examination is required, with annual examinations thereafter to ensure continued fitness for duty.
- Mandatory Tuberculosis testing is required.
- Seasonal Influenza vaccination is mandatory unless exempted for medical or religious reasons (exemption documentation required upon hire).
- Immunization screening is required;
Hepatitis B immunization is mandatory for all positions with direct patient contact. Additional immunizations may be required depending on the position. - All selected applicants must submit a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- The position involves pre-employment screening and random drug testing, including testing based on reasonable suspicion and in case of on-duty accidents.
- Credentialing requirements must be fulfilled, and appropriate clinical privileges obtained and maintained.
- This position is Mission Essential; incumbents are required to report to work or remain during emergencies or severe weather conditions to support mission operations.
- Must obtain and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Advanced certifications do not replace BLS.
