Software Engineer, Python, Full Stack Developer

Leidos has an exciting opening for you, as our next TS/SCI cleared Software Engineer supportinga long-term DIA-NDOC DOMEX Technology Platform (DTP) contract. You will work closely with Systems Engineers, Software Engineers, Architects, and Operations Engineering/Management on a broad scope of activities extending across the development of systems, including middle-tier and backend engineering tasks.

As a Software Engineer you will lead an application team responsible for maintaining the continuous flow of new software enhancements and deployments, while you manage risks, escalation, and help to drive continuous process improvement.

While most work is conducted on-site at our client location in Bethesda, MD, we offer a flexible schedule and, occasionally, some tasks may be performed remotely.

You will work closely with the team on the following key tasks:

• Develop, test, debug, and maintain Python-based microservices in accordance with established requirements and design specifications.
• Develop and maintain integrations with Elasticsearch to support real-time and batch data indexing and querying.
• Write and execute unit and integration tests to ensure software quality, reliability, and performance.
• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and software development planning activities.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and operational issues using logging and observability tools.

• BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field and 4 or more years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 or more years of prior relevant experience.
• To be considered, must have an active Top Secret with SCI eligibility and ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Experience developing software applications using Python
• Experience with containerization technologies
• Experience developing and troubleshooting software in a Linux environment
• Experience using Git and collaborative software development workflows
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience working in an Agile software development environment
• Ability to work independently on assigned development tasks while collaborating effectively with a cross-functional team

• Familiarity with DGX systems
• Elasticsearch certifications or other relevant technology stack certifications
• Experience supporting production or enterprise-scale software systems
• Familiarity with or experience developing applications that leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) or Agentic AI
