Senior Construction Site Manager

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Construction Site Manager to oversee a major infrastructure project in Centurion, Gauteng . This role is crucial for ensuring the successful and safe execution of construction activities on-site, adhering to the highest standards of quality and efficiency. As a hybrid role, you will split your time between on-site supervision and remote administrative and planning tasks, allowing for flexibility while maintaining essential on-the-ground presence.

You will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, coordinating trades, and ensuring that project milestones are met within the defined timelines and budget. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to make a significant impact on a high-profile development.

• Direct and supervise all on-site construction activities, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and to specified quality standards.
• Develop and manage detailed site-specific work plans and schedules, coordinating with the main project management team.
• Manage and mentor site supervisors, foremen, and craft workers, fostering a productive and safe work environment.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, conducting regular site inspections and safety audits.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential issues or delays, and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Coordinate the delivery of materials and equipment to the site, ensuring availability when needed.
• Liaise with clients, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to address site-specific queries and ensure seamless execution.
• Manage site resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimize productivity and control costs.
• Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, progress reports, and safety documentation.
• Participate in project meetings, both on-site and remotely, to provide updates and contribute to problem-solving.

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field; extensive experience can be substituted for a degree.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in construction site management, with a strong track record of successfully completed projects.
• Proven experience managing large-scale commercial or industrial construction sites.
• In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, and safety regulations in South Africa .
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage diverse teams.
• Proficiency in project management software and common office applications.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in both a demanding on-site environment and a remote administrative setting.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to the site regularly.
