Medical Scribe
- Part Time
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Hours/Days: Tues, Weds, Fri – 8.5‑hour shifts
Organization: New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS)
- Take comprehensive medical histories from patients.
- Review and assist with provider inbox management and related tasks.
- Ensure that the provider addresses all lab and radiology results; coordinate with the nursing team as directed by the provider.
- Ensure the provider completes all required patient forms and documents.
- Collaborate to maintain efficient workflows within the team.
- Transcribe in‑office visits and phone consultations.
- Maintain consistent communication with the nursing team to ensure efficient inbox management.
- Provide patient education on relevant topics.
- Assist with care management, inbox management, injections, and wound care.
- Assist with patient intake and preparation in examination rooms.
- Accompany physicians during patient exams to transcribe histories, physical exams, diagnoses, symptoms, follow‑up instructions, and prescriptions.
- Transcribe patient orders, including laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.
- Document any procedures performed by the physician.
- Enter all relevant information into the EMR system.
- MA Certification or LPN License.
- At least 1 year of working in an outpatient medical facility.
- Outstanding computer knowledge.
- Superb writing and vocabulary skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Bi‑Lingual, English/Spanish a plus.
- Salary:
Starting at $24 per hour based on experience and education.
