Travel Sterile Processing Technician – Bethpage, NY
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Start Date: 11/24
Shift: 8-hour Nights (11:00 PM – 7:00 PM)
Guaranteed Hours: 37.5 hours/week
Location: Bethpage, NY
Shift Requirement: Every other weekend required

Human Edge Health is seeking a reliable Travel Sterile Processing Tech to join a busy and state-of-the-art off-site reprocessing center serving 9 facilities, including tertiary hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

• Large, centralized sterile processing operation

• Supports emergency cases and surgical services

• Modern equipment, high-volume setting

• Decontaminate, clean, assemble, package and sterilize surgical instruments

• Operate sterilization equipment: washers, autoclaves, ultrasonic machines, heat sealers

• Follow instrument count sheets and prepare case carts

• Retrieve and process instruments from surgical/clinical areas

• Inspect and test equipment for functionality

• Identify and report malfunctioning items

• Support department inventory processes

• Maintain a clean and safe sterile environment

• Must rotate fully through all work areas including decontamination

• Sterile Processing Certification: CRCST or CSPD

• Experience:

  • 1.5+ years with tertiary experience accepted

  • 2+ years experience without tertiary required

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

• Ability to lift/carry 25 lbs and stand for extended periods

• Strong communication skills and ability to follow detailed instructions

• 2+ years of sterile processing experience

• STERIS Washers & Autoclave
