In this role, you will focus on developing cutting-edge optics and optomechanical solutions for machine alignment, vision systems, and inspection processes. You will balance individual technical contributions with collaboration across various domains, driving breakthrough designs in semiconductor equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop innovative optomechanical concepts for alignment, vision, and inspection systems in Advanced Packaging machines
Collaborate with domain experts to conduct simulations and optimize machine performance
Design and realize optomechanical machine modules in partnership with external engineering teams
Lead testing and integration of prototypes and initial production series, ensuring performance specifications are met
Address challenges related to balancing accuracy and throughput in optical alignment strategies
Make critical decisions on optical system parameters to optimize performance within spatial constraints
Collaborate with global teams across Beuningen, Singapore, and Hong Kong to drive cutting-edge semiconductor solutions
Engage with internal teams and external partners to leverage expertise and enhance project outcomes
Occasional international travel to collaborate with product development centres in Asia and development partners in Europe
THIS IS YOU
MSc in a relevant technical field (e.g., Optomechanics, Optical Engineering); a PhD is a plus
10+ years of experience in optomechanical developments for high-tech machine building, ideally in the semiconductor industry
Proven expertise in optical design (e.g., Zemax) and CAD software
Experience with high-precision machine design, including metrology, alignment systems, and semiconductor processes
Multidisciplinary thinker with strong communication skills, capable of collaborating across domains such as mechatronics and real-time control
Fluent in English; proficiency in Dutch is a plus
