For our location in Beuningen (ASMPT ALSI B.V.), we are looking for a Strategic Sourcing Manager responsible for developing and executing the sourcing strategy for critical components, subassemblies, and optomechanical modules via the Dutch High Tech ecosystem and beyond. You will operate in a dynamic market characterized by technological innovation, high quality standards, challenging supply chains, and geopolitical developments.
In this role, you will be the link between our R&D, engineering, and operational teams and a network of strategic suppliers. You will ensure that our supply chain remains scalable, reliable, technologically advanced, and cost-effective. In this role, you will also work closely with our colleagues at the headquarters in Singapore.
Key Responsibilities
Global Category Management:
Developing and executing the procurement strategy for high-tech semiconductor components and contract manufacturing partners (EMS/ODM).
Risk Mitigation & Buffer Strategies:
Proactively addressing geopolitical barriers to deliveries and transport risks by establishing dual-sourcing and strategic buffer packages.
Identifying, qualifying, and contracting new suppliers within the Brainport and Dutch high-tech ecosystem. Assessing suppliers' production processes, manufacturability, and technological competencies.
Leading commercial negotiations regarding price, capacity, lead times, and development trajectories. Building and maintaining a strong network within the Brainport and high-tech manufacturing industry. Supporting R&D in supplier selection for new machine platforms and prototypes.
NPI (New Product Introduction):
Getting involved early in engineering processes to steer 'make-or-buy' decisions and the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
Strategic Partnership:
Negotiating complex, multi-year Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and IP rights with suppliers who often hold a unique market position.
Quality Assurance:
Working closely with Supplier Quality Engineers to ensure that components meet the strictest cleanliness requirements (cleanroom standards) and ISO quality standards. Conducting technical, quality, and capacity audits at suppliers.
THIS IS YOU
A completed higher professional education (HBO) or university (WO) degree, preferably in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Supply Chain Management.
Purchasing Knowledge: NEVI 2 certified (or a comparable international purchasing title such as CIPS/APICS) and good knowledge of precision manufacturing technology, mechatronic systems, and supply chains for high-tech equipment.
At least 5 years of proven experience in strategic purchasing or sourcing within the semiconductor, aerospace, or high-tech industry in the Dutch high-tech ecosystem. Experience conducting supplier audits and supplier assessments.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with both engineers and executives. Proven experience managing supplier relationships across Asia and the Americas, combined with strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
Possesses an extensive network of suppliers within Brainport and the Dutch high-tech ecosystem.
Fluent in English;
Dutch is a strong plus.
