We are currently seeking an experienced Temporary Site Manager to provide annual leave cover across a programme of planned works in the Yorkshire region.
The role will involve overseeing multiple live projects, including roofing works and replacement window installations, ensuring safe, effective and timely delivery across occupied social housing properties.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident Site Manager with strong planned works, refurbishment or retrofit experience to support a busy operational team on a short-term contract.
The RoleAs Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of site activities, reporting into the Project Manager. You will oversee direct and subcontracted labour, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
Key responsibilities will include:- Managing delivery of planned refurbishment and retrofit construction projects
- Supervising direct trades and subcontracted teams
- Ensuring all works are completed safely, on time and to specification
- Maintaining high standards of site presentation at all times
- Carrying out site inductions for staff, subcontractors and visitors
- Ensuring Health & Safety policies and procedures are strictly followed
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date Health & Safety records
- Ensuring environmental and waste management procedures are adhered to
- Organising regular site meetings and planning resource requirements
- Supporting, motivating and managing site teams
- Ensuring all site personnel comply with company procedures and controls
- Maintaining excellent communication with residents, clients and internal teams
The successful candidate will have proven experience managing construction, refurbishment or planned works projects, ideally within social housing.
Essential requirements:- Previous experience managing construction or refurbishment projects
- Experience with retrofit, planned works or refurbishment programmes
- Knowledge of window and door replacements, re-roofing and planned works
- Experience managing direct labour and subcontractors
- SMSTS
- First Aid at Work
- Asbestos Awareness
- Scaffold inspection qualification
- CSCS card
- Minimum Level 4 qualification, such as NVQ Level 4 or HNC, or equivalent experience
- Full UK driving licence
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
Desirable:
- CISRS qualification
- Experience working within the social housing sector
