Teacher Active is working with a welcoming primary school in South East London who are looking for a confident and enthusiastic Sensory Room Leader to take ownership of their sensory provision.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who understands the importance of sensory regulation and can create a safe, supportive and engaging environment for children with a range of additional needs.

As Sensory Room Leader, you will:

• Lead and manage the school's sensory room

• Support pupils with a range of SEND needs

• Plan and deliver engaging sensory activities

• Help children regulate their emotions and sensory needs

• Create individualised sensory strategies based on pupils' needs

• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and support staff

• Monitor pupils' progress and communicate effectively with the wider team

• Ensure the sensory room is safe, organised and well resourced

• Promote independence, confidence and positive engagement

• Has experience working with children with SEND

• Has previous experience within a sensory room or similar specialist provision

• Understands sensory regulation and different sensory needs

• Is confident managing challenging situations

• Is patient, calm, nurturing and resilient

• Can build strong relationships with children

• Is proactive and confident taking ownership of a provision

• Is passionate about helping children reach their full potential

Experience working with pupils with autism, ADHD, complex needs or SEMH would be highly desirable.

You'll be supported by a dedicated consultant throughout your placement, with access to a range of opportunities across South East London.
