The job itself

Futures+ is one of East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s specialist adult services, supporting adults with learning disabilities and/or autism who have high acuity and complex needs. We are passionate about enabling people to live fulfilling lives, promoting independence, wellbeing, and meaningful community inclusion.

Our service is delivered through two specialist hubs:

  • Preparing for Adulthood (PfA) Hub
  • Community Inclusion Hub

Working across these hubs, our social workers collaborate closely with a skilled and supportive multidisciplinary team, including Enabling and Transitioning Officers, Independence and Wellbeing Officers, Technical Assistants, and an Autism Engagement Officer. Together, we undertake strengths-based assessments and co-produce personalised care and support packages that reflect individuals’ goals, aspirations, and needs.

Following the successful introduction of the Review 100 project, which plays a key role in meeting our statutory responsibilities, we are looking to recruit an experienced social worker to join this workstream. We are offering:

  • 1 x part-time temporary post (18.5 hours per week)

This post is funded for an initial nine-month period, with the potential for extension subject to funding.

Secondment applications are welcomed. If you would like to apply for this post through a secondment, please ensure you have your line manager’s approval before submitting your application.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking, values-led service where your expertise will make a real difference to people’s lives, while being supported by a committed and collaborative team.

About us

Based at County Hall, Beverley, Futures+ is a friendly, caring, and highly supportive team with a wide range of experience, knowledge, and skills. We value collaboration, celebrate achievements, and support one another through challenges. We are a specialist team with strong values and commitment to achieve the best outcomes for our service users.

To support colleagues to achieve better work–life balance and flexibility, we promote hybrid working.

About the role

This role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to further develop and refine their skills in reviews and reassessments, while contributing to the ongoing development of the Review 100 Project.

This role also offers the opportunity to step up and support Senior Social Workers and the manager, providing valuable experience that supports career development and progression.

What we are looking for

You must be a registered Social Worker with:

  • Strong legal literacy
  • Experience of Care Act assessments with strong analytical skills and report writing skills.
  • A sound understanding of person-centred and strengths-based approaches.
  • Strong organisational skills because you’re expected to complete all the works within required timescales.
  • Confident, competent, assertive with excellent interpersonal skills
What we offer

At Futures+, we are proud to be a supportive, inclusive, and values-driven team. We take pride in celebrating each other’s successes, learning together, and creating an environment where everyone can thrive.

If you’re an experienced, compassionate, and committed Social Worker looking to join a warm and dynamic team, we’d love to hear from you.
