An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Pathway Leaving Care team for a full time permanent Personal Advisor to join us.

Our Pathway Team works with young people who have been under the care of the local authority and are now transitioning to adulthood. The team also works with separated migrant children and refugees.

This opportunity is available to external and internal applicants currently employed by East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

Working as part of a team of 5 social workers, 2 advanced social workers, 10 Personal Advisors, 1 Accommodation Officer, 1 Education, Training and Employment Advisor anda dedicated admin support to undertake service specific tasks, the roles report directly to the Team Manager.

What We're Looking For:

• A passionate and committed professional who believes in the potential of every young person and can build trusting, positive relationships that help them thrive.
• Experience of working with young people aged 16 to 25 (or vulnerable adults), particularly those with complex needs, and the ability to support them through challenges with empathy, resilience and compassion.
• Someone who can inspire, motivate and empower young people to achieve their goals, develop independence and make positive choices for their future.
• A confident communicator who can work effectively with young people, families and partner agencies, building strong professional relationships and advocating for the young people they support.
• Knowledge and understanding of the experiences of care leavers, the challenges they may face, and the statutory responsibilities that underpin effective support.
• The ability to remain calm, solution-focused and responsive when managing risk, challenging behaviour or unexpected situations, always keeping young people's wellbeing at the centre of your practice.
• A flexible, organised and reflective practitioner with strong IT and recording skills, a commitment to ongoing learning and development, and a full driving licence to support work across the community.
