Role OverviewReporting to the Deputy Controller, the Accounts Payable (AP) Manager will be responsible for leading the end‑to‑end accounts payable process, driving operational efficiency, and ensuring accurate and timely vendor payments. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) and a track record of effectively managing and improving AP functions in dynamic environments. This is an onsite role, and the candidate is expected to work from our office to foster collaboration and direct engagement with the accounting team and other departments.
Key Responsibilities- Full Ownership of AP Processes:
Lead and manage all aspects of the accounts payable function, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with company policies. - Hands‑On D365 Management:
Oversee and execute AP operations within D365, ensuring smooth processing, reconciliation, and reporting. - Payment Processing:
Manage and execute timely weekly payment runs and oversee any payments made outside the regular systems, ensuring proper documentation and recording in D365. - Vendor Relations:
Build and maintain strong vendor relationships while enforcing vendor compliance requirements. - Process Improvement:
Continuously evaluate, develop, and implement improvements in AP processes, including automation and system enhancements to optimize workflow. - Monthly Close Assistance:
Collaborate with the accounting team to assist in monthly close processes, including preparing accrual entries and reconciling AP sub‑ledgers. - Compliance & Reporting:
Ensure proper 1099 preparation, distribution, and filing in compliance with IRS regulations. - Cross‑Functional
Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments (procurement, finance, etc.) to address any issues related to invoices, payments, or policies.
- D365 Expertise:
Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) is required. - Experience:
5+ years of progressive experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years managing a team in a hands‑on capacity. - Process Ownership:
Strong ability to take ownership of the entire AP process and independently drive tasks to completion. - Leadership:
Experience mentoring and managing AP staff, fostering a culture of accountability and performance improvement. - System Knowledge:
Advanced experience with and/or other AP automation tools is preferred. - Organizational
Skills:
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage competing deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. - Collaboration & Communication:
Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with vendors, internal teams, and upper management. - Technical Knowledge:
Solid understanding of AP accounting principles, reconciliations, and accruals.
This is an onsite role, requiring full‑time presence at our office to ensure effective collaboration and hands‑on management of accounts payable activities.
